i hemmelighed jeg har det som blommen i et æg

ART X ACTIONis an activist art program curated by Another Public focusing on the intersection between youth, artists and public space. This intersection aims to create art that shifts, disturbs and/or transforms the pictures we surround ourselves with daily.
In the first part of the program, we occupied places and symbols controlled by companies that want us to consume. The program took place in nine municipalities in Funen and addressed the world’s climate crisis and inequality through a series of new artworks created in collaboration between invited artists and young students from local art schools. The works were exhibited temporarily in public spaces across Funen. “i hemmelighed jeg har det som blommen i et æg” interveened in Otterup.

“i hemmelighed jeg har det som blommen i et æg” is a collaborative work that brings together generations. Using mosaics as a tool, the young students from Nordfyns Billedskole illustrated three stories of real-life heroes and events that occurred in NordFyn. These chosen stories share different ways of being together, working as concrete examples of collectivity among the older generation.

For a period of seven months, the young students were invited to sit, think, draw, cut and glue with these stories. The result is seven modest mosaic pieces spread around 3 locations. The pieces are placed next to cobblestones in town, but a neighbour probably knows best where they can be found.
